The Volusia County MPO Citizen’s
Advisory Committee (CAC) has been and will continue to be the
primary forum for public review and discussion of
transportation-related topics. According to Florida Statute
339.175(5)(e)1, CAC members shall be appointed by the MPO Board
and will “serve at the pleasure” of the MPO. According to the
Volusia County MPO Bylaws, the CAC must provide review and
commentary regarding all transportation plans and programs and
must play an active role in encouraging public involvement. To
this extent, the CAC may initiate public meetings, speaking forums
or other communications as deemed necessary.
In order to ensure adequate consideration for all citizens,
efforts are made to ensure the membership of the Citizens Advisory
Committee is ethnically, socially and demographically diverse.
The CAC meets at the MPO Offices at 2570 W. Int'l Speedway Blvd.,
Suite 120 Conference Room in
Daytona Beach on the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM. The
Committee forwards all comments and recommendations resulting from
their meeting to the MPO Board. Additionally, the CAC Chairman
provides a verbal report of activities during the subsequent MPO
Board meeting.
